Harry will celebrate his Bar Mitzvah on September 13, 2008 at Herzl-Ner Tamid Conservative Congregation.
Harry is the son of Amy Wasser-Simpson and the late Chuck Simpson and the older brother of Ariel and Gillian Simpson. His grandparents are Stephen and Barbara Wasser of Niskayuna, N.Y. and the late Charles and Jean Simpson.
Harry has been attending the Jewish Day School of Metropolitan Seattle since kindergarten and is now in the 7th grade. He has been playing competitive soccer for the past two years and will be on both the Jewish Day School’s team and the Bellevue Youth Soccer Wolves team this fall. He enjoys photography and having fun with family and friends.
For his mitzvah project, Harry will donate to the Mitzvah Store at the Netzach Yisrael Elementary School in Kiryat Malachi, Israel. This student-run store has items ranging from pencils and candy, to a pair of shoes or a backpack, which kids can buy using “good behavior points” received in class. Without this store, some low-income students couldn’t afford any of these items.
