The New Year brought a new addition to the home of David and Lisa Rosen of Mercer Island.
Their daughter, Dahlia Ru Rosen, was born at 1:30 a.m. on Jan. 5 at Swedish Hospital. She weighed 6 lbs., 10 oz. and was 17.5 inches long.
“She’s a cutie. She’s a good baby,” Lisa said.
Dahlia is the Rosens’ first child. But that doesn’t mean she will be lonely. Both David and Lisa grew up in Seattle’s Eastside (Lisa in Redmond, David on Mercer Island) and have a number of family members still living in the area.
In fact, it was Dahlia’s maternal grandmother, Nedra Schwamberg, who first tipped JTNews off to Dahlia’s birth. Nedra and her husband Mitchell, who still reside in Remond, are thrilled to be grandparents, as are David’s parents, Alan and Leslie Rosen, all of whom are more than happy to pitch in on Dahlia’s behalf.
“I was just out shopping for some things for her,” Nedra admitted when she spoke to JTNews.
Lisa and David first met after Lisa’s brother conspired with David’s cousin to set the two up. The couple will celebrate their two-year wedding anniversary next week.
David works for his family’s company, Alaskan Copper. Lisa plans to spend some time as a stay-at-home mom. They are members of Temple B’nai Torah.
