From Aug. 31 to Sept. 3, Bumbershoot will transform the Seattle Center into a huge city arts playground while lighting up more than 20 stages with a wide range of musicians and performing artists. Bumbershoot will bring more than 2,500 performing visual and literary artists together for four days. The following is a list of the Jewish events that will take place this year.
Music
Yair Dalal
A scholarly Israeli musician born of Iraqi parents, Dalal plays ancient Judeo-Arabic music rarely heard in these divisive times for both cultures. Dalal is also a classically trained violinist and student of Western music, and often mixes jazz, rock and blues in his traditional songs. He will be performing as part of a world music package with Iroquois songstress Joanne Shenandoah.

New Orleans Klezmer All Stars
The music of the New Orleans Klezmer All Stars was born centuries ago on roads traveled by itinerant Jewish musicians; these days their sound travels the paths between rock clubs and festival stages. This music group unites the soulful underpinnings of klezmer new wave with the beauty and range of time-honored musical traditions.

Etheredge cut his teeth in stand-up comedy in the bright lights of his native Manhattan, where his fierce performance, biting commentary and gnashing delivery earned him the moniker “The Kosher Butcher.”
