Stop the bullies

By M. Lachman-Galler, , Seattle

I want to thank you for the recent article on bullying (“Creating safe space for Jewish youth,” April 13). As a Jewish woman who was bullied by the more popular Jewish teens when I was young, I think it very important to ensure all our youth are cared for and that people know that bullying happens to Jewish youth. As today [April 20] is the eighth anniversary of the shootings at Columbine and just four days after the massacre at Virginia Tech, we need to be empowering our youth to speak up and let us know that someone needs help. The article by Tammy Kaiser is incredibly pertinent and I hope that we will take what she teaches us into all our schools to try and limit the bullying and help those who are being bullied.
