Hillel at the University of Washington
Jconnect and Hillel UW are looking for volunteers to care for garden plots at the University Heights P-Patch in Seattle’s University District thoughout the summer. All of the produce will go directly to the University District Food Bank. Drop by between 4:30-7 p.m. on Thursdays. The P-Patch is located at 5031 University Way NE, Seattle. Jewish Family Service
Volunteers at Jewish Family Service serve as role models for at-risk youth through the Big Pals/Little Pals program, collect and distribute food at the JFS food bank, act as companions for the elderly and disabled, lead English as a second language classes for new immigrants, and more. The Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle
The Jewish Federation offers a wide variety of volunteer opportunities for those looking to give back to the local Jewish community and beyond. Volunteers are needed to help with day-to-day fundraising and administrative operations at the Federation, as well as for hands-on projects within the community like PJ Library or Hebrew High. National Council of Jewish Women — Seattle Section
NCJW is always on the lookout for volunteers to join in monthly work parties at its Shalom Bayit furniture bank. Shalom Bayit provides household items to victims of domestic violence who are trying to rebuild their lives in a new location. Volunteers assist with organizing incoming donations and helping to keep the warehouse tidy. Volunteer days are typically the third Sunday of every month.
