Commend, not condemn

By Charles Davis, , Seattle

For a while the JTNews gave a fairly balanced presentation of the contentious issues relating to Israel. But that has changed. The sickening Republican ads on page two of every issue, and now more than half of page three attacking Congressman McDermott (Talk the talk without walking the walk?, Sept. 29) these are too much.

Jim McDermott is a true friend of Israel, concerned about its long-term interests as well as its present situation, so Israel and its neighbors can all live in peace. He is to be commended, not condemned, for refusing to support knee-jerk anti-Arab resolutions that do Israel and the U.S. more harm than good.
