Finding meaning

By Josh Basson, , Seattle

Daniel Levisohn’s insightful column was quite informative (“A long journey,” Oct. 19.)
Bob Ross’s journey in finding hope and meaning in his brother Bruce’s death was very moving. Glad to know that Bob got spiritual guidance and helpful advice when he most needed it from Rabbi Ephraim Schwartz, who leads the West Seattle Torah Learning Center. I know Rabbi Schwartz to be very scholarly in his knowledge of the Torah, as are the other distinguished rabbis we are fortunate to have at the Kollel.
As a long-time Seattleite who has sometimes participated in Kollel classes, I have experienced a very warm and welcoming atmosphere there. I have also learned a lot about Judaism by attending Shabbatons and attending discovery seminars organized by the Kollel.
The Kollel is a real gem in our community and deserves our whole-hearted support.
