Parts of Bellevue Downtown Park turned into a swamp, and it took a few hours before the rain gave up, but by late afternoon, when Israeli music star David Broza took the stage, more than 3,000 people had passed through the gates of the Jewish Community Festival.
Activities throughout the day included Klezmer music and dancing, spoken word stage, a standing-room–only engagement by former Ambassador Dennis Ross, a Yiddish spelling bee, and lots of people learning about what’s available to them in their Jewish community.
