Jonathan will celebrate his Bar Mitzvah on July 7, 2007 at Herzl-Ner Tamid Conservative Congregation on Mercer Island.
Jonathan is the son of Nolan and Pat Newman of Bellevue, and the brother of Adam and Gina. He is the grandson of Abe and Ada Newman and Arthur and Bernice Getz of Cape Town, South Africa.
Jonathan is a 7th-Grader at Tyee Middle School. He enjoys playing select-level basketball, tennis and baseball, participating in National Junior Honors Society and Natural Helper programs at his school, and performing in the jazz band. For his mitzvah project, Jonathan will be making a contribution to Camp Solomon Schechter and supporting the Special Olympics.
