Memorial book created for slain soldier

Israeli soldier Eldad Regev, one of the two soldiers kidnapped during the 2006 Lebanon war whose body was returned to Israel last week in a prisoner exchange, came from the town of Kiryat Motzkin, Tacoma’s sister city. In memory of Regev, Temple Beth El has created a memorial book which, when fully signed, will be sent to Regev’s family.
“It is important that we let his family and the people of Israel know that we stand with them at this time of mourning, just as we stand with them in times of joy such as Israel’s 60th birthday which was celebrated this spring,” said Rabbi Bruce Kadden in a statement.
Community members who wish to sign the memorial book may come to Temple Beth El, 5975 S 12th St., Tacoma, Mon.-Fri., 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, contact 253-564-7101. The book will be available through the end of August.
