Kollel golf tournament
The Seattle Kollel is holding its Ninth Annual Golf Tournament on Sun., Aug. 26 beginning at 10 a.m. The format is team competition with a “Best Ball” scramble. An awards dinner at Sephardic Bikur Holim Congregation will follow the tournament with cocktails at 6:30 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m. The tournament entry fee is $80/player, which includes green fees, prizes and dinner for two. Kosher steak dinner
When was the last time you enjoyed a delicious, expertly prepared kosher prime-rib dinner at a pristine spot right on Lake Washington? On Sun., Aug. 19, Bikur Cholim Machzikay Hadath Congregation will host a kosher Omaha steak fundraiser at a private residence in support of its programs. The cost is $75/person or $125/couple. Grilled chicken will also be offered, as well as many side dishes and martinis. Reservations and payment are due no later than Aug. 13. Moliere auditions
Auditions for a reading of Moliere’s School for Wives will be held Aug. 8 and 9 at 7 p.m. at the Kline Galland Home. Characters’ ages are 18-45 (seven men and two women). Actors will give a cold reading from the script and should bring a headshot and resume. As usual, there is no compensation for performing, except to bring classic comedy to an audience who relishes language and the concepts of this classical playwright. Rehearsals are at 7 p.m. at the Kline Galland Home on Aug. 21, 22, 23, 27, 28 and 29. There will be one performance on Aug. 30 at 7 p.m. at the Kline Galland Home. Get S’more Shabbat
Temple B’nai Torah will host the second annual prospective-member event, Get S’more Shabbat!, on Fri., Aug. 17. The evening will offer an opportunity for prospective members to get a taste of Temple B’nai Torah in a casual atmosphere with Shabbat services taking place out on the lawn and sing-a-long music making. This is a fun filled evening for the whole family. Dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. followed by services at 8 p.m. Dinner is $10/adults, $4/children ages 5-12 and complimentary for prospective members.
