Sex and Judaism: A Nextbook Salon
Nextbook Salon discussions are back and the first one is sure to be an attention-grabber. The topic: Sex and Judaism. Discuss will rely on contemporary works and original texts by both Jewish and non-Jewish writers. Refreshments will be provided. RSVP requested. Contact Elana Kupor at

Hebrew classes at Beth Shalom
Congregation Beth Shalom is offering four classes in biblical Hebrew for both beginning and intermediate level students. Classes start Tues., Oct. 28 and last for 23 weeks. The cost is $250. Flu and pneumonia shots at the SJCC
A visiting nurse will be on site at the Stroum JCC the morning of Wed., Oct. 29 to administer flu and pneumonia shots. Appointments are required. To make an appointment, call 206-232-7115, ext. 269. The cost is $30 for flu shots, $40 for pneumonia, and is covered by Medicare Part B or Secure Horizon. At the Stroum JCC, 3801 East Mercer Way, Mercer Island.

International Tracing Service lecture
Paul Shapiro, director of the Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies, will give a talk on the International Tracing Service archive, located in Bad Arolsen, Germany, which was established by the Allied powers after WWII to help families trace missing members.
