Rachel will celebrate her Bat Mitzvah on February 23, 2008 at Herzl-Ner Tamid Conservative Congregation.
Rachel is the daughter of Jeri Bernstein and Aaron Shaw and the sister of Michael Shaw. She is the granddaughter of Anne and David Bernstein of Greensburg, Pa., Philetta Lobo of Medford Leas, N.J., and the late Bernard Shaw.
Rachel is an honor student in the 7th grade at Maywood Middle School. She participates in cross country, gymnastics and track. Rachel also enjoys reading, writing, running, playing with dogs, listening to music and talking with her family and friends.
Rachel’s mitzvah project will be to volunteer at the Humane Society in Bellevue. She is thrilled to share this special occasion with her good friend and brother, Michael.
