Samuel celebrated his Bar Mitzvah on July 3, 2008 at Eretz B’Reshit in Yishuv Alon, Israel.
Samuel is the son of Hannah and Bob Cordes of Seattle and the brother of Isaac. His grandparents are Barry and LeAnna Wiley of Boston, Mass. and Ron and Mary Cordes of San Clemente, Calif.
Samuel is entering the 8th grade at Eckstein Middle School. His hobbies include playing baseball, reading, playing the double bass in the Eckstein orchestra, and caring for his dogs. For his mitzvah project, Samuel raised money for Let the Animals Live, a no-kill animal shelter in Tel Aviv. Sam visited the shelter to donate the proceeds of his fundraising efforts.
