I am outraged by the recent radical Islamic terrorists massacre of innocent civilians that occurred in Mumbai, India. In particular, the savage murder of Chabad House’s Rabbi Gavriel Noah Holtzberg and his wife indicates senseless and baseless blind religious hatred that has left their 2-year-old son an orphan. What occurred was a despicable act of hatred and destruction that cannot be excused. What terrible crime had the Holtzbergs committed to have their lives cut short?
The murderous terrorist attacks in Mumbai have shocked all decent human beings around the world. Armed men targeting civilians, taking hostages, and shooting and murdering indiscriminately can be described only as an act of terrorism carried out by terrorists. No doubt much of the terror attacks appear to be caused by the media’s biased and factually inaccurate reporting. Specifically those reports that are based on faulty terrorist inflammatory comments.
It is time for clarity. A vital step to confronting terrorists effectively is to recognize terrorism and call it by its name. Terrorism is the correct term to describe politically motivated attacks that do not differentiate between civilian and military targets and are designed to create a sense of terror in the minds of the general public. The media need to call terrorists by their rightful name instead of militants and freedom fighters. The war on terrorism can be won only if the enemy is clearly identified.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families. I do hope the perpetrators of this shameful crime against humanity are brought to justice.
