the wrong country

By Benjamin Pollock , , San Francisco, Calif.

Jewish progressives like Richard Silverstein need to return to their roots and rediscover who is the true underdog in the Arab-Israeli conflict. It is not Israel that needs the harsh prod of a boycott, excuse me, a divestment campaign to be pushed into recognizing the right of Palestinian Arabs to a nation of their own. Rather, it is the Arabs and Iran that need to be prodded into recognizing Israel’s right to exist as an essentially Jewish nation in their midst. But it is much easier (and hipper) for the likes of Mr. Silverstein to call for an economic attack on one nation than on 20.
