J-serve day of teen service
On April 25, Jewish teens from all over the Puget Sound region are invited to attend J-serve, a national day of volunteering. Several projects will go on simultaneously, with this year’s event focusing on literacy in the community. Teens can sign up by contacting Blair Feehan at blairf@jewishinseattle.org or 206-774-2251. Hadassah panel on organ donation
In honor of Organ Donation Education month, Seattle Chapter of Hadassah is holding a panel presentation to discuss the subject. Scheduled panelists are Rabbi Moshe Kletenik, rabbi of Congregation Bikur Cholim-Machzikay Hadath, who is known nationally for his expertise in Jewish medical ethics; Dr. Connie Davis, vice chair of the living donor committee and professor of medicine at the University of Washington; Les Olson, surgical organ recovery specialist at LifeCenter Northwest; and Katie Edelstein, a member of the Hadassah national executive board and herself an organ donor. This is both an educational event and a fundraiser for Hadassah. April 27, 7–9:30 p.m. at the Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center, 1625 118th Ave. SE, Bellevue.
