Eight JDS students in grades 2—5 will join hundreds of other students in a three-week summer program sponsored by the Bellevue School District.
Operation Exploration, now in its 25th year, provides an opportunity for students to stretch their abilities through accelerated academics and higher level, creative thinking. This year’s theme is “Unexplained Phenomena and Other Mysteries.” To participate, students need teacher recommendations using the following criteria: advanced achievement, intense curiosity, independent learner, display of appropriate classroom behavior, preference for complexity and abstraction and ability to generate creative, unusual ideas.
The selected JDS students are: Solly Behar, Makena Owens, Madeleine Brown, Nicki Etsekson, Joshua Etsekson, Jacob Goren, Zachary Saul and Maya Zwang.
