Jewish Day School defeats Seattle Hebrew Academy in boys’ basketball
The Jewish Day School narrowly defeated the Seattle Hebrew Academy Nov. 19 in the first of two meetings in boys’ basketball. Allon Freiman led all scorers for JDS with 14 points. Andrew Schwartz contributed nine points and Avi Fine six, as JDS moved its record to 2—1 for the season.
SHA pulled ahead early in the game, leading 19—16 at the half. But with a determined defensive effort and clutch free-throw shooting, JDS was able to come from behind.
“As a team we proved that what any one player can do alone will never equal what a team can do together,” said first-year JDS coach Linda Nalis. “This was an evenly matched contest and we look forward to another close game in January.”
