Technion appoints new Northwest director

The American Society for Technion—Israel Institute of Technology (ATS) announces the appointment of Wendy Rosen, as its new Northwest Chapter Director.
Rosen comes to the ATS with a background in fund-raising and recruiting in the Seattle community. “This is a very exciting time for the Technion and the Northwest,” said Rosen. “Technion University, which is known as Israel’s MIT, has one of the largest and most highly rated computer science departments in the western world. It is also one of the few universities housing both a world class computer science department and medical school. Many of our graduates are employed and living here in the Pacific Northwest.” Technion alumni work in local high technology companies and conduct research in local biotechnology research firms.
One goal of the Northwest Chapter, under the direction of Chapter President Moshe Dunie, is to expand awareness of the Technion in the Pacific Northwest. “Israeli companies led by Technion graduates generate nearly one third of Israel’s gross national product,” says Dunie.
“Almost two thirds of Israeli companies on U.S. stock exchanges are run by Technion graduates. We want people to know the impact that Technion has, not only on the Israeli economy, but on our local economy as well.”
