Day of Giving seeks surplus garden produce

Gardeners are asked to donate surplus produce for delivery to Seattle—King County food banks and hot-meals programs on the Day of Giving, Aug. 25. Backyard gardeners can make donations of surplus produce at any of the collection sites listed below between 9 and 11 a.m. (all sites except those noted below). Then drop by the potluck picnic at Seattle’s Interbay P-Patch (15th Ave. W. and W. Wheeler St.).
Locations: Interbay P-Patch, Picardo Farm P-Patch (N.E. 82nd and 26th Ave. N.E., Wedgwood), Bradner Gardens P-Patch (29th Ave. S. and S. Grand St., Mt. Baker), Lake Hills Greenbelt Community and Demo Garden (156th Ave. S.E. and S.E. 16th St., Bellevue), Marymoor Community Garden (6046 W. Lake Sammamish Pkwy. N.E., Redmond—pickup is 10 a.m.—12:30 p.m.), North Green River Community Garden (Green River Rd. and 94th Pl. S., Kent—pickup is 10 a.m.—12:30 p.m. Also collecting donations of canned goods, baby food and dry goods).
