Today, the Forward revisits the Pew Research Center survey, which has occupied a great deal of discussion and concern amongst Jewish professionals throughout the US since its release in October of last year. The current analysis, prepared for the Forward by Steven M. Cohen, a professor at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, suggests the factual foundation for a commonly held belief among Jewish scholars and community activists that many young American Jews — especially in their 20s — do not share their parents’ sympathy toward Israel and that they often feel alienated by the Jewish state. This analysis of the survey attempts to draw a correlation between intermarriage and this second-generation alienation from Israel.
Does new analysis of Pew report prove intermarriage is an Israel-repellant?
