After lengthy discussion and debate, it’s official: the Orthodox Union—one of the world’s foremost kashrut authorities—has declared quinoa kosher for Passover. Though many Jews have considered quinoa a “safe” kosher for passover food (since at least 2008), now that the community has the blessing of the Orthodox Union, many skeptics can breath a sigh of relief and continue indulging in the protein rich grain-like dish.
