When I picked up the August 18 edition of the JTNews, I was appalled to see the photo of the [alleged] killer of my dear friend, Pam Waechter, featured on the front page. While I understand the journalistic need to get the reader?s immediate attention, I consider the front-page photo of the perpetrator way over the edge.
Wouldn?t a front-page photo of the victims been more appropriate? Surely the only Jewish newspaper in the Seattle area could and should have done better. I and many of Pam?s relatives and friends are very disappointed with your lack of compassion.
Hopefully, this city will never again witness such a heinous crime that took place at the Jewish Federation building. It forever changed the lives of all of the victims and their families, and hopefully the JTNews will take a lesson in sensitivity.
