Israel will celebrate his Bar Mitzvah on March 31, 2012 at Herzl-Ner Tamid Conservative Congregation on Mercer Island.
Israel is the son of Anne and Ed Harris of Bellevue and the brother of Gabriela Bloom and Sam Harris. His grandparents are Anita and Richard Harris of Boca Raton, Fla., Marian Jaski of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and the late Jan Jaski.
Israel is a 7th-grader at the Jewish Day School. He enjoys hip-hop dance, ballet, piano and attending Camp Solomon Schechter. He is donating a portion of his Bar Mitzvah gifts to Mayan health care services in Guatemala.
