A new Jewish youth club in West Seattle will meet on Wednesday afternoons between 3:45-5:30 p.m. from Oct. 9, 2002, to June 2003.
Dropoff will begin at 3:30 p.m. Programs are for ages 5-7 and 8-12 featuring arts and crafts, storytelling, snacks, singing, Jewish learning and more. The cost is $75 per child per month, with a 20 percent discount for siblings, plus a $36 non-refundable registration fee. For registrations before Aug. 29, $18 from the registration fee will be applied to the first month’s payment. Confidential scholarships are available.
This club is sponsored by the Torah Learning Center (TLC) of West Seattle, formerly known as West Seattle Adult Jewish Education, which is now entering its second year. TLC is dedicated to helping develop the West Seattle Jewish community through adult education classes, Jewish social events and youth programming. The name change is due to the demand to expand beyond adult education to include youth programming.
The Torah Learning Center of West Seattle is a branch of the Seattle Kollel, dedicated to Jewish education for every level throughout the Puget Sound and the Northwest. They sponsor classes and social gatherings in a variety of settings, from synagogues to coffee shops. In West Seattle, adult education classes are held each Tuesday evening.
