Summer food drive
Kids are out of school, summer meal programs are cutting back, and food bank shelves are famously sparse during summer months. Unemployment is at an all time high of 9.1 percent and Jewish Family Service needs help to continue to serve all those in need by raising an additional 3,000 pounds of food. Community members are encouraged to drop off bags of non-perishable food to the JFS office, 1601 16th Ave., Seattle on Sun., June 21 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Ta’am: A Taste of Kol HaNeshamah
Kol Haneshamah kicks off its annual summer fundraiser, Ta’am: A Taste of Kol HaNeshamah, on June 15. This year’s event series includes eight separate dinner parties held in members’ homes, one per week through August 15. Ticket prices range from $10–$72. JFS’s Living With Uncertainty workshop series
Jewish Family Service presents a workshop series for the newly unemployed and those who fear they may soon lose their jobs. Topics include job search tips, information about training programs, interview skills and health insurance resources. Free. Teach in Israel with OTZMA
OTZMA’s Israel Teacher Corps is looking for North American college graduates, ages 26 and under, to teach English in under-served Israeli public schools for one year.

SJCC golf, bridge and Mah Jongg tournaments
