The Stroum Jewish Community Center of Greater Seattle was recently awarded a 2002 Communications Award for “maintaining standards of excellence” in promoting its 2001 Night & Day for the “J” annual fundraiser. The Jewish Community Centers of North America Association honored the Stroum JCC with its Model of Innovation Award in the category of Special Events Publicity Package, and commended the Center for “exceptional achievement in marketing, communications, and public relations.”
The Stroum JCC’s entry to the national awards competition was comprised of “Night & Day” publicity material including posters, Centerline newsletter articles, an invitation, postcards and a video. Proceeds from the annual fundraiser, which takes place this year on June 23 and 24, help the JCC subsidize memberships, camperships and preschool tuition for low-income children and families, as well as providing transportation and social services for senior adults.
The winning entries were exhibited during the JCC Association’s Biennial convention in Los Angeles, April 21-24, 2002.
